Privacy
naya/bio is a fan project. Here's what it keeps about you, and what it doesn't.
What we keep
- The email you sign in with.
- Your card: everything you put on it and the photos you upload.
- Reports and messages sent to us, with the reply email if you leave one. A message sent while you're signed in comes with your card's name.
- Error reports, without names or emails, to help fix things when they break.
- Anonymous counts of views and taps on each card (more below).
- Hosting logs: the standard request logs (like IP addresses) our host keeps for a short time.
A few services run sign-in, storage and hosting for us. They only use this to do that job.
What we don't do
- No ads.
- No selling your data, to anyone.
- No cookies that follow you, and no outside analytics or tracking.
A YouTube video on a card loads from YouTube only when someone presses play, and a Spotify player loads from Spotify. They follow their own privacy rules.
What's public
Your card, once you publish it: anyone with your link can see it. Your email never shows on it. You can unpublish any time in Settings.
Views and taps
When someone opens a card, its count for that day goes up by one. A tap on one of its links or social icons adds one to that link's count. Each view also counts where it came from: X, TikTok, Instagram or somewhere else. The visitor's browser works that out from the site or app that sent them, and sends only which of the four it was.
It's anonymous. There are no cookies, and nothing about the visitor goes into the counts: no IP address, no device, no name. Opening the card again in the same tab doesn't count twice, bots and link previews don't count, and neither does the owner looking at their own card in a browser they edit in.
Only the card's owner sees the numbers, in Settings. Days follow the owner's time zone, which the editor picks up from their device. The counts are kept for 90 days and go when the card does.
Deleting
Settings → Download my data gives you a copy of your card first.
Settings → Delete my card removes your card and every photo you uploaded, right away.
Settings → Delete my account removes your sign-in too.
